How to Choose the correct location for your Solar Panels
1. Direction
In the southern hemisphere, the general rule for solar panel placement is, solar panels should face true north. Usually this is the best direction because solar panels will receive direct light throughout the day. If you don’t have a suitable roof for this then your second best option is a east and west facing roof and splitting your solar panel mounting between the two. Your Inverster system will need 2 MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) inputs.
2. Orientation
The orientation of a solar panel is important in ensuring its power output is maximized. For optimal winter and summer orientation your panels should be mounted between 20’ and 35’.
